O Love That Will Not Let Me Go

sung to the tune of O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go (St. Margaret)

O love that will not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in You.
I fly to You when I am low,
And plunge into Your ocean’s flow,
Where I find life anew.

O light that follows all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to You.
My heart returns its borrowed ray,
That in Your sunshine’s blaze, it may
Grow ever bright and true.

O joy that seeks me through my pain,
I cannot close my heart to You.
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And know Your promise is not vain:
You will make all things new.

O cross that held my dearest Friend,
I dare not ask to fly from You.
Life’s glory scatters in the wind.
I know true glory, in the end,
Is to become like You.
